The bodega is situated in the very heart of Sanlúcar de Barrameda in a beautiful building typical of the XIX century Mudéjar style built on the instructions of the Duque de Montpensier. At the beginning of the XX century it was transformed into the current bodega which houses our most carefully aged and select soleras.
Production area: Jerez de la Frontera
Type of ageing: Criaderas & Soleras
Years of barrel ageing: 20 years
Type of Wood: American oak
Alcohol content: 40º
Tasting Notes:
Appearance: Chestnut. Bright.
Nose: Slightly sharp, smooth, with fruity and woody notes.
Palate: Good entry on the palate, warm, dry and velvety, with notes of fruit, vanilla and wood. Good persistence on the palate.
Serving suggestions:
The glass known as the balloon made from fine transparent glass with enough distance between the bowl and the foot is the ideal glass in which to enjoy this Brandy, although a wine tasting glass is also suitable.
It is important never to warm the Brandy, but swirling it gently around the glass for 4 or 5 minutes will release its aromas. It is a similar procedure to that of a fine old wine, slowly allowing it to breathe.
The Brandy is at its most glorious after a meal, or simply whenever one feels like a good brandy.
Pairing: Its character and great versatility make it ideal for creating moments of enjoyment as an aperitif, after-dinner drink or cocktail. We recommend drinking Carlos I with hazelnuts, almonds, dried apricots and cured cheeses or desserts such as tiramisu or melted chocolate.
