Bodegas Barbadillo was founded in 1827 by Benigno Barbadillo in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Almost 200 years later Barbadillo is still a family owned business and owns bodegas in other Spanish wine regions as well, such as Ribera del Duero and Somontano. Over 40% of the firm’s products are exported to over 15 countries.
This outstanding brandy is made by the traditional system of soleras and criaderas and is aged for over twenty years. Such long ageing produces a brandy of full amber-mahogany colour with golden highlights and an intense, complex balsamic aroma. Each bottle is numbered and signed by the bodega manager responsible for its production.
Appearance: Beautiful golden amber-mahogany with hints of green at the rim.
Nose: Powerful balsamic aromas with oak and vanilla.
Palate: Warm, full and dry, dominated by the toasted, almost burnt notes of very old oak.
It can be appreciated at an ambient temperature or also with ice and any mixer. It is the perfect accompaniment to a long post prandial conversation. This brandy should be stored in a cool place and will age beautifully in bottle over a good few years.
